modernfaith: 2013

Well I can honestly say, I am excited that 2012 is behind me! I'm looking forward to 2013. This year I'm turning 30. Hubby will be 31 in just a few days. I'm excited to spend some time with him for his bday away from the kids for a couple of days in O-town. There is so much going on...but I'm glad that the rush and fury of Christmas is over. When everyone else is relaxing and on vacation, we "preachers" are hard at work, candlelight services, prayer vigils, Sunday worship! (I did get a couple of days of rest!) Not to mention practically a week with the flu right before Christmas-YUCKyuck. It was awful, but glad it only lasted 4 days.

Other things to celebrate: My baby girl turned 3! She is such a joy and had a wonderful time at her 2 parties. One at school with her friends, the other at my parents where she was aptly spoiled at both.

I don't have a resolution for the New Year. BUT I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to lose about 30 pounds by my 30th birthday. I think I'll call it "30 off by 30" or something clever. Suggestions?
So today I hereby pledge: I WILL GET ON THE ELLIPTICAL this afternoon.  For 10 whole minutes at least. :) And I will attempt to keep my mouth from devouring all the candy Santa poured in our stockings...that will be the real challenge :) Happy New Year to you. You are LOVED. Believe it!

What I'm listening to right now:  "Hopeless Wanderer" by Mumford & Sons...love it, and totally appropriate for this new beginning:

I wrestled long with my youthWe tried so hard to live in the truthBut do not tell me all is fineWhen I lose my head, I lose my spineSo leave that click in my headAnd I won't remember the words that you saidYou brought me out from the coldNow, how I long, how I long to grow old

So when your hopes are on fireBut you know your desireDon't hold a glass over the flameDon't let your heart grow coldI will call you by nameI will share your road

But hold me first, Hold me firstCuz I'm a hopeless wandererAnd hold me first, Hold me firstCuz I'm a hopeless wandererAnd I will learn, I will learn to love the skies I'm underAnd I will learn, I will learn to love the skies I'm under
