This past Sunday (12/30/2012), I gave the good folks at Wesley United Methodist Church (Culver, IN) a break from hearing me preach. Instead of a sermon, we re-read the story of Christ’s birth interspersed with carols. Since we’d just had a similar service on Christmas Eve, I found myself thumbing through the hymnal to find carols that we had not already sung in our celebration of Jesus’ birth on December 24th. That’s when I found #242 in The United Methodist Hymnal: “Love Came Down at Christmas.” It’s my new favorite carol this Christmas, I hope you enjoy it.
It’s my prayer as we wind down the days of Christmas that love will be your token, that love will be yours and love will be mine for love has come to all the world in the child born in Bethlehem: Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!
