tomshriver.com: Final Four – Best Blog Post of 2012

Original post at http://tomshriver.com/2012/12/22/final-four-best-blog-post-of-2012/

Hey friends! Just in case you don’t know yet, I have been nominated for Best Blog Post of 2012 along with 70 other awesome blog posts from over the year.

Thanks to all of you, I have made it to the FINAL FOUR! I’m super pumped have gotten this far.  There are SO many good blog posts out there. If I’m going to win this I need your help.  Take a moment to shoot a vote my way.  If you don’t think I deserve it then go ahead and vote for someone else – there are three other great posts in the final four.

Go vote (CLICK HERE)!

UPDATE: I’ve just been informed by the Youthmin.com team that there have been “Proxy Votes” cast towards my blog post for this contest.  A proxy vote is essentially a “loophole” that allows people to cast multiple votes from different IP addresses but all from the same computer.

In my marketing efforts I hit up every community I knew I could pull votes from.  My biggest one was Facebook.  I also hit up my Twitter quite a bit.  One of my most clever (or so I thought) avenues was hitting up an online PC gaming community I’m involved in.  This is a great community with a ton of people (many of them are too smart for their own good…).  One of my guys came forth and admitted it was him trying to help me out using his proxy server (that he typically uses for Minecraft among other things) to cast multiple votes.  His intentions were pure, but in an online contest where people are getting REAL votes, this is not okay.  He’s been informed to STOP voting for me with his server.

Sorry this happened guys – and thanks for all of my legitimate votes! What a great contest!
