To say the Sodom story is limited to unhospitable behavior i s not accurate.
To say sex, related to morality, is little spoken of in scripture is not true.
The men of Sodom are after the male. There is no question about that.
They were men seeking sex with men and would accept no other.
You do not mention the other cities destroyed with Sodam and Gomorrah…Admah, and Zeboiim.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it. it is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath
    Job 22:8

Jude says the sin was “sexual immoratity”
In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. Jude 1:7

You fail to include this passage. It is not a reflection of hospitality spoken of here.

An indepth study of the topic goes much deeper.
