I saw the most recent production of Les Miserables at the movie theater last night. It was a truly great film.
I’m thankful, so thankful, that I haven’t faced the struggles of dire poverty that so many pictured in the film are portrayed in.
However I’m MORE thankful that I’ve found the very source of grace for myself. So many folks here and across the world are struggling to be good enough or earn their worth somehow. It can’t be “accomplished,” it can only be done for us.
I’m thankful that I know the One who did it for me.
Javert is trapped in trying to rise above his view of his parents and finds comfort and purpose in following rules set by men. He’s trapped and it destroys him.

Valjean finds himself “bought with a price” as it were and from his salvation grows love and hate disappears.
“To love another person is to see the face of God” the story shares, but to experience the love of God is to see ourselves rightly for the first time.
I’m thankful for that too.
