“When I share the Gospel, it’s nothing to brag about or swell my head with . It is an obligation laid upon me by God, and woe to me if I don’t do as I must. If I preach and witness of my own accord, I gain personally; but if I do it in obedience and submission, I have been entrusted with a great commission. What’s in it for me? Just this: that by my actions I make the Gospel free of charge to all – my rights to the Gospel are non-exclusive! I am made free by respecting all, and am therefore free to serve all so that I may better reach them.
To the spiritual, I am spiritual. To the religious, I am religious. To the poor and powerless, I am poor and powerless. I am all things to all people so that by all means I may be heard by all – and reach some. I do it all for the sake of the Gospel with which I have been blessed so as to be a blessing.”
(Paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 9:16-23)
Do too many try to be both Prophet and Evangelist?
